A little bit of faith goes an infinite way.
A big ole army hunts you down, and "the people of Israel cried out to the Lord; 11 and they said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us, in bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Is not this what we said to you in Egypt, ‘Let us alone and let us serve the Egyptians’?" Exodus 14: 10-12
My first response to this is what a bunch of morons. The first sight of trouble and they'd prefer slavery?
On second thought, I might be just as moronic.
As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of a few times that God has shown me his POWER and still, I doubt him at the next challenge of life.
Slowly, I think I'm getting better though. Rome wasn't built in a day ya know.
I've been harping on you to become a saint filmmaker and change the world. I'm trying to be a saint filmmaker myself, but a bit of a challenge and accountability for your host is in order too.
For comradery sake? Actually, it's more than that. I need accountability in order to make forward progress.
And you will know in 10 months if I make it. My pledge is to teach Catholic Filmmakers how to defeat the Goliath of Hollywood for 1 year and then reassess our progress. I officially started 2 months ago.
The hard part for me is raising the funds to fuel this effort. It's not my expertise. But there is too much at stake not to. I know how much you will be blessed by the Lumen Institute and I see you making films helping to create saints rather than providing opportunity for sin. I see millions of lives drawing closer to Christ because of your involvement in this renaissance.
The Lord wants it. It has little to do with you and I and everything to do with Him. And that is why He is making it happen. I'm riding the Jesus' coat tails or cloak:)
So ask me whenever we talk, if you like, how's the fundraising going? If I sound grumpy remind me I told you to ask. Thanks.
Actually, I have a request. Pray that people will have generous hearts and fund this renaissance.
What's your faith looking like?
Is it mustard seed size? What's more important is, are you open to letting God work through it? When we compare ANY Quantity of faith to the infinite love of God, we see that anything next to infinity is nothing. Ergo, as long as you are trying and trusting in the Lord, He will guide you and make up all that is lacking. Which is like, well you know. It's the infinite amount part.
What's fearing sin not death mean?
I mention in the video that St. Maximillian Kolbe said, "I don't fear death, I fear sin." He obviously was NOT like those Israelites following Moses. And Maximillian was a man in deep love with God. A love so deep he could not imagine doing anything that would hurt the one he loved most. His love was so strong he conquered the worst the Nazi army could conjure up. In the death camp of Auschwitz Maximillian brought love. Max's love healed the hearts of prisoners' and drove the Nazi's crazy. St. Max was, is, unstoppable. And after they killed him, he became unstoppable for all eternity.
Moses said yes. Max said yes. Mary said yes. What about you? The technical aspects of making a film is easy. The next level is saying Yes to let God make films through you. A whole hearted, no holding back Yes. It takes practice, and the Lord has given you a church full of outward signs of inward grace, instituted by Christ for our sanctification. He's given you a church full of traditions that build discipline so you can renew your yes every day. This is our faith. We are proud to profess it, because it is the gift the Lord gives all mankind who receive it.
We are not battling other believers. We are in a battle against principalities, against powers of darkness.
Guess what.
You are wielding the stick of power.
Faith,
Sure, pray for more faith. But first be a good steward of the faith that you have.
Use the faith you've been given. Put your faith into action.
'What if I don't have enough faith to do what I want?', you say.
"You'll never know until you go for it." I say
If someone gave you the keys to a Ferrari for a day, would you look at the speedometer and say, I wish I could go that fast?
OR WOULD YOU TURN ON THE ENGINE AND GO THAT FAST?!!!!!
Think about it.
I can't do this topic justice in a blog. To go deeper we need to connect and come together for the glory of God.
Unite with other Catholic Filmmakers like you.
I want to help you evangelize through your films.
